You don't need to be a programmer to own a website.

The recipe: domain to live site

You need: a free Cloudflare account, a domain name, and access to Claude (claude.ai).

1. Buy your domain

   In the Cloudflare dashboard, open Domain Registration and search for the name you want. Register it. Cloudflare sells domains at cost.

   Short, memorable, and easy to say out loud beats clever.

2. Create a Worker from the Hello World template

   Go to Workers & Pages, choose Create, then start with the Hello World template. Give it a name and click Deploy. You now have a live page on a workers.dev address.

3. Attach your domain

   Open your Worker, then Settings, then Domains & Routes. Choose Add, then Custom Domain, and enter your domain (and the www version if you want it). Cloudflare sets up DNS and the certificate for you. Within a few minutes your domain shows Hello World.

4. Add Workers AI

   In the same Worker, open Settings, then Bindings, then Add. Choose Workers AI and set the variable name to AI (capital letters, exactly). Save. This lets your site answer visitor questions with no outside API key.

5. Ask Claude for the site

   Open Claude and paste a prompt like the one below. Change the idea in brackets. Claude will return one complete file.

   Write a complete Cloudflare worker.js for [my site idea, for example: a site for dog groomers in Tucson]. It must be a single file using export default { fetch }. Serve a modern, mobile-friendly HTML page from the Worker with a clear headline, 3 short sections, and a chat box. Add a POST /api/ask route that calls env.AI.run() with a current Workers AI text-generation model, using a system prompt limited to my topic. Model names change, so keep the model names in one list at the top of the file and try the next one if a call fails. The Workers AI binding is named AI. Show the real error message if every model fails. No external libraries and no API keys. Return only the code.

6. Paste and deploy

   In your Worker, click Edit code. Select everything in the editor, delete it, and paste Claude's code over the Hello World. Click Deploy. Your domain now serves the new site.

7. Test, then refine with small requests

   Open your domain and try the chat box. To change something, go back to Claude, paste your current code, and ask for one change at a time (colors, wording, a new section). Paste the updated file and deploy again.

   If something breaks, paste the error message into Claude and ask for a fix to that one problem.
